Two Ohio state representatives, one Republican and one Democrat, want to introduce legislation to regulate the payday lending industry. With the increased media attention on sub-prime mortgages, these representatives seem to be running a play from the US Congress recently. Politicians need to be seen on the news ”doing” something. The media is fickle with what it deems worthy of coverage.
