Obama Visited Mt. Pleasant, Iowa
Presidential candidate Obama visited Mt Pleasant, Iowa to drum up support in the rural area of the state. Iowa, being the first in the nation to hold the caucus is on almost the entire candidates list to spend time visiting and drumming up support for their campaign.Â
When it was announced that Obama would be in our little town our kids and grandkids all got involved in the event. Our granddaughters volunteered to help with the organization, two of our daughters and our son in law and his dad went to the event to hear him speak and meet him.Â
Even though he is not the candidate that we support we were pleased to see the excitement and desire to get involved in any political activity by our granddaughters. In our opinion, the involvement is a lesson that can not be gained in any other manner. It is part of the process, a learning time and an opportunity to get a better understanding of how the election process really works.Â
